Terminal A
Malaga Airport is called Pablo Ruiz Picasso and was designed by Ricardo Bofill. Construction began in 1988 and was completed in 1991. The building has two floors with separate entrances from the street. The lower floor of the Malaga Airport Terminal Building is devoted to arrivals and the upper floor to departures. An additional upper floor houses a shopping area. The terminal at Malaga Airport contains 65 check-in desks, 24 boarding gates, 14 walkways and 8 baggage pick-up belts. There is no left luggage facility at Malaga airport

Cargo Terminal
The Cargo Terminal at Malaga Airport became operational in 1996 and is located north of the main airport. It has four cold storage rooms, an area for hazardous materials, facilities for live animals and vaults for valuables. This unit at Malaga Airport has 16 docking bays for unloading vehicles.

Cafeteria facilities at Malaga Airport are better in the departure area where you will find Burger King and a Spanish bar. In the arrivals there is just a small Spanish style cafe. There are lifts from the airports arrivals lounge on the lower floor to the departure lounge on the top floor.

Malaga Airport is located 6km west of Malaga city, just off the main Coast Road (N340) and the new toll road which runs to Estepona in mainland Spain

Taxi’s are plentiful from Malaga Airport to the nearby resorts. The costs are reasonable and you would expect to pay approx Euro 8 from Malaga Airport to Malaga Centre, Euros 11 from Malaga Airport to Benalmadena and Euro 19 from Malaga Airport to Fuengirola.

There is a Train Station at Malaga Airport and trains run from the Airport to Malaga Centre every 30 minutes between 07:45hrs to 00:45hrs and the journey takes approximately 12 minutes.

There is a frequent bus service from Malaga Airport into Málaga city bus station from where you can get express buses to all along the Costa del Sol.

There is also a new Express service from Malaga Airport direct to Marbella Bus Station via the motorway which only takes about 35 minutes.
